Afternoon my favorite readers! Can I just say that I know that it's been way too long since I updated things over here but I am so thankful for the people that continue to check in on me and leave me sweet messages! The fact that you keep coming back just makes my heart swell!
We have been hard at work with moving and kitchen demo and I cannot wait to show you guys what we have been up to! I'm planning my first ever DIY series to take you through every step of our kitchen renovation and I could not be more stoked about it - so stay tuned for that!
Because we just bought a house and are currently funding a renovation we have been tightening our purse strings because we firmly believe in staying out of debt at all cost. The fact that we have never had to deal with car payments or student loans or credit card debt is mostly due to my husband's diligence with our money but it also comes from major practice. From day one we decided that if we couldn't pay cash for it, we didn't buy it and that included trips, new appliances, cars (we technically do have a car payment but joe's job pays for it - we would not have financed a car ourselves), and home renovations.
I could write an entire post about how to avoid debt (maybe I will some day) but that's not what this post is about. Even though we are trying to avoid spending unnecessary money, we still want to get out of the house and spend time together as a family so finding fun things to do for free around town is always something I'm trying to do!
When Cherry Creek reached out to ask if I would help promote the Snoopy & Belle in Fashion Traveling Exhibit at the Cherry Creek Mall I thought it would be the perfect activity for us! All kinds of designers from Betsey Johnson to Rachel Zoe designed amazing outfits for the little pups and put them on display in shopping malls across the country! The exhibit will be in Denver until April 11th and then will continue on to other cities until September before it heads overseas.
We had the best time going from case to case! Ella got obsess over the puh-pies and I got to drool over the amazing mini couture outfits! There is even an app to give you a guided tour through the exhibit.
I thought it would just be a quick walk through but we actually spent quite a lot of time admiring all of the different designs and learning about the designers. We then headed to the indoor play ground to let Ella get her wiggles out and then popped in to Madewell to check out their new spring collection (I couldn't resist).
Over all we had an awesome day and while i did spend about $3 on a latte I'd say it was almost a total no spend success.
Thanks for reading guys! You are the reason that I get to do what I love!
