Hey Ya'll! I'm so excited to finally be able to update you on our last few weeks. I have been having such a hard time finding a strong enough internet connection to upload a blog post. Now we have settled in at Joey's Granny and Grandad's place for a few days so we can relax a bit and I can finally get caught up on a HUGE pile of work that I've been putting off.

Several of you have seen my hair transformation journey on Instagram but I wanted to show you the final result and share with you a little bit about the process!

I've wanted to do silver for a long time but I have never had the guts to do it because my hair is super thick and super dark. I knew it was going to be a long process so when Glamour Bar Denver offered to take on the challenge I was super on board! Brandon did an awesome job and was such a pleasure to work with! The first thing you should know if you are wanting to do such a dramatic change is to expect multiple sessions. It took us 3 (4-6 hour) sessions to get me all the way to the smoky silver and I personally think that we could have actually split it up even more. You want to make sure that you are completely white platinum before you try to put the silver color in or else you may have a hard time getting (and keeping) the color you want.

The first session we chopped off all of the extra length and did some lightening. I left the salon rocking a bright orange. The next session we were hoping to be done but I ended up turning more blue/green than silver because my hair didn't take the product as well as we would have hoped. We gave my hair another week to recover and then ended up having to lift the color out and try again. This is totally normal because everyone's hair is so different and may take some trial and error to get you to the perfect color! Each session took about 4-6 hours so make sure you don't rush your stylist because good color takes time! I ended up being super happy with the result and have felt like a total rockstar since I left. I've been maintaining it with great toner I picked up in London but a good purple shampoo should do the trick!

I will say that because my hair tends to slide in the super brassy direction it has been kind of difficult to keep the smoky silver color without going blue/green again. I'm getting more and more blonde every time I wash my hair and I don't know if I have what it takes to keep up the maintenance to keep this color looking it's best (Silver is apparently the hardest to maintain since it actually means that your hair has ZERO pigment at all). I've had an absolute blast while it's lasted though and who knows, I may venture into some other fun colors while I'm still technically blonde ;)

p.s. This romper is one of my total faves and will definitely be on repeat this summer! It's so comfy and can be styled a hundred different ways! Not to mention it's nursing friendly!
