I've gotten a lot of questions about how I've kept my hair healthy through all of the coloring and bleaching I did. Even though the guys at Glamour Bar did an amazing job keeping the damage minimal the truth is there will always be some damage when your hair goes through a lot of processing. Thankfully I've found some pretty awesome products that have helped repair some of the damage and kept my hair soft and manageable.
Something you should know about me is that I try my best to avoid toxic chemicals like parabens (which are known hormone disruptors), sulfates (which strips your hair of it's natural oils), PEGs (which are often contaminated with formaldehyde releasing chemicals) and Fragrance (known as "trade secrets" and therefore are generally thousands of undisclosed potentially harmful ingredients). It's especially important to be aware of what is in your hair products! There's a great article about why HERE.
That being said everything is a work in progress and I'm not perfect. I'm also not willing to sacrifice quality for safe ingredients so you'll still find me using a few of my cult faves. #sorrynotsorry
Anyways here my 5 Fave Products for Healthy Hair:
*This post contains affiliate links as well as links to my Beautycounter consultant page. I receive a commission when you make purchases through my blog. This is at no additional cost to you and helps keep the lights on over her at Tabitha Lane! Thanks for your support!
If you haven't heard of Beautycounter you should know that I'm 100% obsessed. This set complete with the Split End Serum has truly been a life saver for my hair! Everything is formulated without sulfates, mineral oil, silicones, or synthetic fragrances yet it still lathers beautifully (unlike other "natural" products I've tried) and leaves my hair feeling fresh and clean! It also smells so good and gives my hair that boost of hydration that it desperately needs!
Drybar DETOX Dry Shampoo
If you know me you know that I wash my hair maaaybe once a week. By Friday my hair is basically 85% dry shampoo. I've tried a whole lot of them and this one is by far my favorite. It gives my hair just enough texture while still absorbing oils and leaving my hair feeling (and smelling) clean - even though it's totally not.
This is my all in one product! This oil prevents frizz, tames flyaways, and gives hair a finished, sleek look. This naturally-derived blend of eight oils and nourishing vitamin E boosts hair health and adds shine while helping protect from heat styling. It's also super light and not greasy at all and it smells amazing!

ACURE Leave - In Conditioner
If you're not using a leave in conditioner you need to start! I only recently added this step into my routine and it's made such a difference! I love that this one is free of all kinds of harmful ingredients and it comes out as more of a mist rather than a spray so I feel like it doesn't drench my hair in just a few spots!
Hair mask are probably one of my favorite self care activities! I love to put on my jammies, slather my hair up and pig out on ice cream. This SheaMoisture mask is $3 and I get a good 2-3 uses out of one packet. It also smells good enough to eat and my hair is so so soft when I rinse it out! Honestly I was a little bit worried it would leave my hair sticky (cuz of the honey...) but it's so creamy and rinses out really well.
