I'm not usually a person who sticks to trends. I like to find classic pieces that will stand the test of time and make them work for every season. For that reason I am drawn to a capsule wardrobe, which is basically a curated collection of pieces that you can mix and match to create multiple outfits. I don't think I'll over completely transition into a full on capsule because let's face it, I love to shop and I love keeping up with current trends. That being said I am LOVING the trends that are making their way around this season. Velvet is making a huge comeback and I'm not mad about it. As the weather cools off everyone is starting to pull out their jackets so I've rounded up some pieces that every girl should have in her wardrobe! I've done my best to merge the trends with the classics and keep them affordable!
DENIM
This season I'm seeing a lot of light to medium washes and boxy shapes. I'm also loving details like embroidery and studding!
MOTO
Moto jackets are an easy way to edge up any outfit whether it's a t-shirt and jeans or a flowy dress. My advice is to spring for genuine leather or suede because it'll maintain it's shape better and it wont start flaking after one season. Totally worth the splurge in my opinion!
BLAZER
Blazers are the easiest way to turn a casual look into office attire! I love that I can wear jeans and a tee during the day and then throw on a cool velvet blazer for a meeting or event takes the look to a whole other level!
BOMBER
Bombers are trending hard right now and I can't deal with how cute these varsity styles are. Super comfy, warm and still super casual and cool!
TRENCH
If you just have one fall jacket in your capsule wardrobe it needs to be a trench. They're super versatile and can be taken from day to night with ease. I also love how much they elevate the stye of a casual outfit without being too heavy.
How do you feel about capsule wardrobes? What's your go - to jacket for fall??
